Interning or volunteering at Micah Challenge isn't just paper pushing--you are an important part of the team, and get to do valuable work!  It is an invaluable skill building opportunity. Communications Internship Description

Start date: July 2017

Duration: 6 Months with possible renewal

Location: Portland, OR

Hours: 20 Hours/week

Status: Volunteer with $500/month living stipend

Primary Duties

1. Social media management

  • manage Micah Challenge Social Media Channels
  • generate content
  • interact with followers

2. Content generation

  • research and write blogs about related issues (climate change, corruption, theology of justice, faith and politics, etc.)
  • help write advocacy resources to be used by churches and college students

3. General communications

  • help craft email campaigns, write and edit mass email communication
  • help create ad content
  • 'help with the global renew our world campaign communications
  • edit writing and content created by others on the team

1. Build relationships with communities using Live Justly

  • contact past Live Justly users to get feedback
  • help connect recent Live Justly users to our current advocacy campaigns
  • be available to help groups work through issues or challenges with the study

2. Reach out to new churches and college campuses to participate in Micah Challenge campaigns

  • work through our database to find potential individuals and communities to champion our existing campaigns
  • identify places that would be eager and excited to work with us on addressing global justice, climate change, and corruption

3. Help individuals and groups host events

  • help communities organize film screenings of "For the Love Of..."
  • help communities organizing meetings with their Member of Congress
  • help communities organize advocacy events in church or on campus
