For the past 13 years Micah Challenge has been my home. I’ve seen God use our modest organization to create big change in the world--to help thousands of churches seek justice, to mobilize millions in prayer to end extreme poverty, and to speak prophetically and boldly to world leaders alongside of our poorest brothers and sisters. We've seen attitudes, behaviors and policies change on a global scale, and it has been an incredible journey.
It has been a gift and honor to be a part of this organization, and to have experienced God’s faithfulness and presence in this work.
I wanted you to be the first to know that beginning January 1 I will no longer be at Micah Challenge USA, and will be starting a new position as Vice President of Tearfund USA.
As the Board of Directors was considering the future of Micah Challenge USA, they came to a unanimous decision to close the organization and pass the baton to Tearfund USA. Tearfund USA will take over the Live Justly Curriculum, and will be a biblically grounded voice for justice, environmental sustainability and community transformation.
For nearly 10 years Tearfund has been an essential partner of Micah Challenge USA. Together we started and led the Accord Advocacy Alliance, created the Live Justly Curriculum and advocacy training, campaigned for climate justice, poverty eradication and so much more. Because of our deep shared history and alignment of mission the board feels a lot of peace and excitement about their decision.
We’ve always known that it would take a movement dedicated to justice, prayer, generosity, and advocacy in order to end extreme poverty. Tearfund is a global movement that shares our vision, and we encourage you to connect with Tearfund USA.
Thank you for journeying with us all these years.
For your support.
For your prayers.
For believing and working with us toward a future when Jesus reigns over all creation when racism, sexism, poverty and injustice are no more.
It has been an honor,
